Relationships
Rich Forster
Relationships
There are a few basic ingredients that universally apply to the subject of business. These principles represent foundational pillars for success in business and real life too. Building and maintaining relationships is foremost on that priority list. The process starts at birth when we are miraculously born into this new world and immediately drawn to our mother's breast and her indescribable nurturing love for this new creation, you! As we grow up through childhood, adolescence, and into adulthood, the relationships we establish along the journey begin to form our choices, habits and directions in life. The plethora of these influences continually morph, while forming the diversified combinations of attributes and feelings that eventually we are not only drawn to but actually become. Associations with similar types of people now strongly influence our life forever. Life's decisions suddenly take on an importance like never before. We are now picking places to live, jobs, careers and life mates based on those beliefs and relationship influences. This is when your relationship building skills come to fruition and the merging of all these previous experiences and lessons come to the decision making, life changing crossroads. So now is as good as time as any to ask you... . . .

Grow My Business or Impact My City? YES!

Grow My Business or Impact My City?
YES!Many of us that earn our living in the secular world and have a passion for the things of God often feel that this may very well be an either/or proposition. We may have put a distinction between making more money in the business world and actively being God's representative in the marketplace. In reality it's not either/or-- it's actually and/both. Never before have we seen opportunities to represent God in the marketplace with such incredible favor. It's as if there has been a great awakening taking place in businesses, both large and small. Evidence can be seen of this literally around the world. God is pouring out His Spirit on those of us that earn our living outside the four walls of the traditional church. 2008 is being touted as the year for new beginnings and open gates. A year of promise and promises fulfilled. Are you ready for what He wants to do through you in the secular market in 2008? My biggest question is this: Are your barns vast enough to contain it? . . . keep reading

How are you doing in e-business?

How are you doing in e-business?
According to Nielsen's Net Ratings, 5.7 billion Internet searches were posted in January 2008! This is a 39% increase from the previous year. The Internet has become a pivotal part of business. Internet users research and then base their buying decisions upon information supplied in search engine results. Those decisions affect our businesses! Obviously, it is imperative that our websites be the source for our prospects research. This month I'm starting a five part series on "The Basics of Building Website Traffic" and as you know sales come with traffic. Traffic is also critical in getting to top of the search engines. In part one of this series; we are going to spotlight how to determine our target demographics' on-line search behavior. I am going to make a.... . . .

Job Security - Yeah Right!
Is there any job security anymore? I have a degree from the School of Hard Knocks. Let me share my qualifications. I grew up in a family of Entrepreneurs. My great grandparents owned and operated a local grocery store for over 60 years. My grandfather had the largest automotive repair and wrecker center in the state of Kansas. After my grandfather retired, my dad started his own shop. Working in all these businesses really made me want to have my own business. Let me share what has happened in just the last three years... . . .

Hard Times, Making Do and Doing Without... Old Fashioned Biscuits
Hard Times, Making Do and Doing Without...
Old Fashioned Biscuits You cannot get away from it. Everywhere you turn, you read, hear, or experience the symptoms of the economic trouble that our country is experiencing. I'm not really all that worried about it for a few reasons. First, I know that my provider and my protector is God my Father, my Creator, and my Savior. Second, I've been there done that in regards to unemployment and a failed business. Third, I've learned all about making do and doing without. . . . keep reading

Let's Do Lunch
As the New Year arrives many people think of turning over a new leaf, and rightfully so. Having a specific time that we can look back on and say, "that's when I decided to ---"whatever your project is. It's a way of measuring accomplishments. What we're talking about is change. Someone close to me dogmatically says, "People don't change." I personally disagree. Without change there would be no hope. Without change we wouldn't see any progress. But sometimes we don't get to plan our changes. In July 2005, I had a change thrust upon me when my husband.... . . .

Marketing in the Driveway
David Tinney
Marketing in the Driveway When times get tough, your marketing dollars need to be spent more wisely because you're competing for fewer customers who are tighter with their wallets. Rather than cutting marketing from your budget, a mistake many business owners make, cut the fat from your marketing budget So its leaner but more effective. Here's a real life example I experienced recently. A Yellow Page ad can be a very effective marketing tool for.... . . . keep reading
