Faithfulness = Contentment = Blessings
Lowell Lane
Over the years I have had some very rough circumstances and learned the hardest lessons. I have had too many jobs; we have had constant financial trials, serious medical trials, and business trials. All of these things of their own could have been devastating; but, God has remained faithful and has protected us. At the time, we may have not have known this and thought the world was coming to an end; but, he was there. It seems to me that God is faithful to us even when we are not faithful to him; and, through these trials we have learned to have faith that God would be with us, therefore building contentment. Being content and trusting God allows him to bless us. . . . keep reading

Leadership is making the dreams of others come true.
The Dream Manager by Matthew Kelly is a secular story about a company that decided to help its employees identify and realize their dreams. Their goal was to reduce turnover and increase corporate profits. I'm sure Matthew is a Christian because His book illustrates a great truth in the Bible. The Dream Manager is on our recommended reading list. . . . keep reading

Three P's of Meetings
Lance Welch
If you have ever watched a relay team at a track and field event, I'm sure you can recall a time when the highly favored team didn't even come close to winning the event. The reason? Nearly 100% of the time it is due to a poor transfer of the baton from one person to the other. Even hours and hours of focus on creating the perfect hand-off can prove ineffective if not executed properly when it matters most. The same can hold true in our attempt to conduct an effective meeting--whether it be a group or one-on-one meeting. If we attempt to wing it, it will be obvious…if not immediately, at the very least eventually. While many of us have the gift of "shooting from the hip", it is a poor long-term strategy. This gift can go from being used sporadically--only as a last resort--to a habitual way of conducting a meeting. It is my belief that this will surely be regretful in the end. So, how does one prepare for an effective meeting? . . . keep reading

Marketing in the Driveway
David Tinney
When times get tough, your marketing dollars need to be spent more wisely because you're competing for fewer customers who are tighter with their wallets. Rather than cutting marketing from your budget, a mistake many business owners make, cut the fat from your marketing budget So its leaner but more effective. Here's a real life example I experienced recently. A Yellow Page ad can be a very effective marketing tool for.... . . . keep reading

The Life Journey: the Process of Orientation, Disorientation, and New Orientation through the Psalms
Adrianne Forster
What makes our lives different from the ancient Biblical times of the Israelites, of Elijah, of the judges, or of King David? Surprisingly, not much at all! They were just as human as we are today. They went through emotions, feelings, joy, and pain just as we do. They experienced it all: prosperous times and times of collapse, security and threat, growth and margins. They traversed the same journey we find ourselves trekking now. Hhhhmmmmmm, I wonder if, perhaps, there is something to learn from them that would be beneficial to our journey? Just like we would on any hike or climb, let's start at the trail head. Of all books, chapters, and verses, I believe the book of Psalms is that perfect trail head from whence we begin our journey. . . . keep reading
